ReplyDeleteOooooooh!
ReplyDeleteGood one, girls!
Can't wait! :)
I am so excited and then to see the authors! What a treat! I got so riled, my husband asked what was going on! I also feel blessed, as I don't have the money to buy a book, even at that ridiculously low price, right now without an income, but I had bought it when things were going better and hadn't read it yet! I'm thrilled to be able to participate and allow someone else to benefit from your generosity. Read on!
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the video of all ya'll raving about this, I will MAKE time to do it!! Yay for book clubs!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm off to buy it right now!
ReplyDeleteCxx
That is so cool that Ron & Denver made a video for us! I've read SKODAM before (after reading about it on your blog Angie!) & their story is incredible!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great story - perfect for Bloom! I'm excited to read it again, and look forward to discussing it! It made me totally rearrange the way I look at homeless people and poverty. Even here in Australia, I think we forget there are homeless people out on the streets of my suburb. SKODAM gave me such a greater understanding and empathy for homeless people - I know it sounds blase, but it's not. It really struck me especially because it is written partly from Denver's perspective. I guarantee we will all fall in love with Denver!
As the CEO of Thomas Nelson (the company that published the book), I’m so excited that you picked this book. It is one of my top 10 favorites of all time. It really moved me.
ReplyDeleteThe audio edition of the book is really good, too—provided you don’t mind crying while you are listening to it on a run. Kind of embarrassing but so worth it!
Thanks for supporting this book.
Ah. Excellent choice ladies. This book is awesome and challenging!
ReplyDeleteThis book is one of my all time favorite!!! I am thrilled to be reading it again with such an awesome group!
ReplyDeleteI would love to participate in the book club again this time, but I did not where to sign up to get a donated copy of the book. My husband is out of work still (has been since before we started Crazy Love) and I do not have money to purchase a copy right now. But, I also do not want to be greedy and ask for copy of another book. Anyway, I would love to partcipate again, so just let me know. Crazy Love was such a great book - my sister is going to start reading my donated copy after Christmas! - and I also just finsihed The Shack. I hadn't been reading a lot of books lately and am so glad I got started again with Crazy Love. Thanks for being a blessing.
ReplyDeletelove this book, and I am so so glad you all picked choose it. =) it has ministered to my dad, stepmom and grandma, so so good. Can't wait to read it again.
ReplyDeleteI aggree, Thomas Nelson Publishing is incredible. Through my blog they sent me a copy of Rob and Denver's last book "What Difference Do it Make!"
A great, great book!
ReplyDeleteHey girls! New here! I also found the book on amazon...if you buy it used you can get it for $5.08 in good shape!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited and I haven't even read the book yet. I will have it on audio before the end of the day though :-) I will also be ordering the book from christianbook.com.
ReplyDeleteDon't tell my husband that I am admitting this...but I do sometimes miss the obvious even when it is right in front of me. However, I don't see the form. I will keep looking around though. If someone else already has it, email me the link or the form to eyonish@gmail.com. Since the book is such a bargain, I would love to be able to donate a copy to one of my Bloom Sisters.
ok- found the form on my own. Now I am laughing at myself...out loud...at work.

My mom just bought the family a copy of Crazy Love a few days ago. I'm excited about catching up reading that while I wait for my copy of "Same Kind of Different As Me: A Modern-Day Slave, an International Art Dealer, and the Unlikely Woman Who Bound Them Together." I can't wait to read both books. God Bless.

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited! I have my book. Thanks so much for the opportunity to join you in this!!!
ReplyDeleteMy copy just arrived in the mail today. Encouraged by all the comments. Ready to "Bloom" right along with you.
ReplyDeleteMy copy came in the mail on Dec. 23 and I read the WHOLE book in two days - could not put it down!! Great book, I cannot wait to discuss!!
ReplyDeleteI just got my copy of the book yesterday. I read until way to late last night and during my daughters nap time today. I'm half way through it and feel guilty, but I don't think I can stop!!! What a neat choice in books :O)
ReplyDeleteI missed out on Crazy Love - I don't know why I was holding back, but I downloaded "Same Kind.." to my Kindle this week and am ready to dig in! Thanks so much for hosting this, like others have said, I'm really encouraged by the comments and am so excited!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading the book and joining such a neat bunch of women!
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time favorites! I missed Crazy Love, but am reading it on my own now.
ReplyDeleteI loaned my book to someone and haven't gotten it back. So, yesterday I went to Goodwill and found a hardcover of it for .99! I was so happy!
I can't wait for the study to start!
Wow... I can't put the book down. Wish the discussion was sooner!
ReplyDeleteMy husband runs a homeless shelter, and the other day when I was in his office, I saw this book on his desk. I actually acused him of stealing my Bloom book! :) Turns out one of his board of directors gave it to him, because she thought he'd enjoy it. He won't be joining Bloom (obviously), but I'll really enjoy reading it both with you AND with him to get his perspective as well -- as one who is "in the trenches" so to speak.
ReplyDeleteJust joined you guys! So excited. After work today, went right over to book store and picked myself up a copy. YAY!!! Here we go!
ReplyDeleteJust found you all after reading another blog. Stay-at-home mom now after teaching reading for 10 years. So glad I found you. Will read Crazy love on my own to get caught up and bought 2 copies of SKODAM for me and my mom to do your book club together. (Must say, COULD NOT stop after chps. 20 and finished the book)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being real and bring all of us along on your journey!
Awesome Book! I'm already finished. I think it is one of the best books I have ever read and a wonderful follow up to Crazy Love! Thanks!

I would like to thank the person who provided a book for me. I was number 20 on the waiting list at the library and I was afraid I wouldn't get it in time to participate. I was so surprised to receive it from Amazon today!! Thank you anonymous donor! I hope to donate a book in a future reading, when things are more stable with our finances. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to participate.
